Details

By far the largest number of UPDATE_CHECK_EXTENDED_ERROR_NOTIFY errors fall into AUS_CHECK_EX_ERR_2152398878. Error 2152398878 is NS_ERROR_UNKNOWN_HOST so these systems either have a value for app.update.url or app.update.url.override that points to a host that they are unable to resolve. 

I've wanted to add a telemetry probe for whether the host is a mozilla.org host which might be the first part of this investigation.
