Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:43.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/43.0 SeaMonkey/2.40 Build ID: 20160120191716 Steps to reproduce: Use the browser normally, after having installed Mac OS X Security Update 2016-001 El Capitan on September 15. Actual results: Within a couple of hours, the browser's functions rapidly begin to slow down, suffer nonresponsive delays, and finally stall out entirely, requiring a Force-Quit; this happens consistently, despite restarting the computer. Expected results: It should have continued functioning normally!

Michael, do you still have this problem?

I can't actually say, as I gave up in frustration not long after posting the above: I've now been using FF as a browser, while still retaining SM as an email client, aided by the Standalone Seamonkey Mail extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/En-US/seamonkey/addon/standalone-seamonkey-mail ). It seems to work OK with a very small number of tabs open.
