Trying to file a bug which, on first glance, appeared specific to newsreading I found no Component on bugzilla under which to file it. I recommend adding Component "News - General" to the MailNews program bug page.
adding stephend as cc (given he's mail/news qa).
It's called Networking - News, and it's available under Mail.
