I don't have a good feel for what is relatively easy to be created for donation data. But in another email, I asked for:

"In particular, it would be useful to see:

1)    Any specific gifts that are $1000 or greater

2)    Total number of contributions per month.

3)    Breakdown of contributions by locale or country."

I am adding Vojtech Sedlak to this ticket. Vojtech leads digital analysis and metrics for the Advocacy team. I've asked him to help set up some automated reporting for you Kent. Pulling this data manually is time consuming and out of scope for the Foundation team at this time. He has been approved to spend 2 - 3 hours on this.

How does the Mozilla Foundations donation team get this kind of information? Is the fundamental issue here that the MoFo donations team has access rights to data that I do not have? Or is the issue that there are limited staff resources available to setup appropriate reports?

We have custom dashboards set up in Google Analytics to track our Foundation fundraising metrics. We also have a custom SQL database. Thunderbird's donation forms are buried in our GA dashboard data, and are not easily separated out. We never set up our dashboard thinking we would be hosting fundraising for any other organization, so our systems are not built for this kind of reporting. 

The answer is "yes" we have access to Google Analytics, which may not be accessible by you (that is something for Vojtech to confirm). And yes, we have limited staff resources to support Thunderbird overall.

Further, the "specific gifts of $1000 or greater" lives in a separate system -- Stripe -- and is not available from Google Analytics. That adds an additional layer of reporting we have to build.

The provided dashboard is a big step forward, thanks! It answers the specific questions of comment 2, with the one exception that for large gifts, all I have is a transaction ID. For now that is enough, it might be best to ask for manual lookup of the rare large gift rather than try to spend developer time writing a report.
