User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 Build ID: 20160920074044 Steps to reproduce: Updated Firefox, restarted, used it for a few days. Have only a bit over 100 tabs open, mostly youtube, with the setting that doesn't load tabs until active on. When I type in the awesome bar, suggestions flicker but don't appear long enough to read, and pressing enter doesn't navigate (ctrl-right arrow then enter does for some reason). I can't open the menu by button, flickers away the moment it appears if at all, as does the context menu on all pages (works over the youtube HTML 5 player, so in-page JS context menu's work). Usually it takes a few days to start happening after I restart the browser. First started some time around version 47 - I waited one or two updates to see if it would go away naturally (and I hate restarting my browser anyway). Per IRC suggestion, currently running in safe mode, still experiencing problem. Actual results: Awesome bar doesn't navigate, Fx chrome menus don't appear Expected results: Awesome bar navigates and suggests open tabs, right click menu and Firefox menu appear.
Select form elements also flicker away or don't open as other Fx chrome elements.
My grammar above is poor, please forgive the haste with which I wrote.
Type about:config andset gfx.xrender.enabled to true (restart FF to apply). Is it better?

I have enabled that setting and restarted Fx. It will take several days before I can expect the problem to manifest again, so please be aware that my reply may take some time. I will try to reply in a week if nothing occurs, and sooner if it breaks again before then.
Well, didn't help, and it failed a lot faster this time :).

Same session just started working again yesterday... unknown why it broke, and why it unbroke - hasn't unbroken before despite running much longer. Extensions are presently on, to boot. I will post again when it breaks again, and if I restarted in the meanwhile.
