User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0 Build ID: 20160923225245 Steps to reproduce: I'm using Firefox 49.0.1 on Xfce 4.12 Start dragging an image or any other item from a website. During the drag, press alt+tab to switch the window to the one I want to drop the item into. Actual results: The default task switcher didn't appear and I was unable to switch windows during drag. Expected results: The default task switcher should appear, allowing me to quickly raise the window I want to drop the dragged item into.

Not really sure if Drag and Drop is the best component... b.t.w. I cannot reproduce it with Firefox 49.01 either on Mac or Ubuntu 16.04

Id worked all right for me in Gnome. I think it only happens on Xfce. At first I though it's an issue with Xfce itself, but all the other apps support switching windows wile dragging.

Is this e10s specific?

Doesn't look like it is e10s related I can't reproduce this either on Ubuntu. So this would more likely be something the specific window manager is or is not doing with our drag feedback window.
I have the same issue with KDE on Fedora 25. I believe it produces since I have updated Fedora from 23 to 25. My current Firefox version is 52.0 (64 bits)

Same issue here with gnome-shell 3.24 on Arch Linux. Worked until quite recently, as mentioned already. Quite annoying.
I can reproduce with FF 52.2 (ESR) on Debian with Cinnamon 3.2.7. To drag and drop a tab to another window, I have to click on the tab (but not moving the cursor), then I press alt+tab, then I can move the cursor to drag the tab, seeing the page thumbnail, in order to be able to drop it where I want.
