User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; rv:49.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/49.0
Build ID: 20160922113459

Steps to reproduce:

In windows xp sp2.
With 49.0.1 & 50.0b4 & 51.0a2 & 52.0a1 firefox (All versions checked) i'm trying to download the full installer Windows 64-bit in the ALL languages webpage, to transfer it to my usb drive and install it in another pc.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

all other links works as expected, linux, mac, windows.

Actual results:

in ALL the all language pages in Windows 64-bit links (49.0.1, 50.0b4, 51.0a2) i have a 404 page not found error. I cannot download the full installer only the Windows 64-bit.

Only in Nightly all language page with all versions of firefox (stable, beta, developer, nightly) Windows 64-bit links works fine, i can download the correct version, i don't have a 404 error. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/

same think in windows vista : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/712155?page=2#post-70545

more in the support forum : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/contributors/712155?page=2#post-70533

Expected results:

I expect to be able to download the Windows 64-bit full installer in ALL the all language webpages.

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/beta/all/

https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/developer/all/
i'm not sure if this report should go into the release engineering or www.mozilla.org component.

though users on xp or vista cannot install 64bit versions of firefox i don't think that serving them a 404 error is a good idea as they might want to download the setup file for a different system (the installer should tell them that it is incompatible when they try to run it on an unsupported system).

This is a valid bug, because we do not generate SHA1-signed win64 binaries (win64 requires win7), but have logic to redirect WinXP/Vista users there...

Jeremy, do you think we should stop using the same logic for win64 downloads? Something like revert https://github.com/mozilla-services/go-bouncer/commit/f83313aa8f0d202d9001cdaa694aa89aa96a6939?

I'm fine with taking that out, but don't think I should make the call her. Rail, do you know who would be the best person to make the decision to serve normal builds for win64 os?

Let's ask Sylvestre! :)

Yes, let's do that. Sorry about the lag

Jeremy, can we proceed with comment #2? Want me to send a PR?

still i can NOT Windows 64-bit links, i still have a 404 page not found error. Again i cannot download the full installer for any language Windows 64-bit. (the only Windows 64-bit i can download is in nightly "all page" https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/nightly/all/ )

Ooops. Sorry about that.

Jeremy, have we deployed the PR in comment 7?

We haven't yet. I'll get something scheduled.

Depends on: 1324010
No rush at all.
Tested on the following:
* IE 10, Windows 8
* IE 6, WinXP SP2 (awaiting confirmation that the VM I tested on was, in fact, genuine XP SP2, rather than a rebadged Windows 2003 VM)
* IE 8, Windows 10
* IE 9, Windows 7
* Safari 10, macOS (Sierra)
* Firefox 45, Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 LTS)
* Chrome 54, Windows 10
* Chrome 26, WinXP SP2

Verified that:
* could successfully download the 64-bit and 32-bit binaries for all OSs
* for supported OSs, I could run and install the 64-bit Windows version
* in unsupported Windows OSs, running the 64-bit Windows installer gave me the appropriate "You need the minimum Windows 7 to run 64-bit Firefox" error message
Bumping to verified - this has been deployed to stage and production.

Bumping to verified on production - :stephend ran through a full set of manual checks as noted in the test matrix in comment 14. Automated end-to-end checks for go-bouncer are also passing.
