I set pt-BR language in Fennec, but, widget appears in en-US

The Search Widget is entirely static content, so Fennec's in-app locale switcher has no control over it. Sorry -- I know that sucks, but it's the main limitation of the feature. This widget is 'part of' the OS launcher, loaded by the OS, so it should be displayed in your OS locale. (If that's not the case -- e.g., your OS is set to Portuguese and you're seeing English -- then please comment further.) As I understand, it's _technically_ possible for us to rewrite the widget to be entirely dynamic, and thus hook into the locale selector… but doing so would be a huge amount of work, so please understand if the remaining Android developers close this bug as WONTFIX. needinfo Sebastian to decide if this should stay open, or if it's considered important enough to estimate.

I agree with ranking this as P5 (WONTFIX but patches welcome!). This is something we should look into when investing in the widget again (and overhauling it). For now our resources are too limited. (In reply to Richard Newman [:rnewman] from comment #1) > This widget is 'part of' the OS launcher, loaded by the OS, so it should be > displayed in your OS locale. (If that's not the case -- e.g., your OS is set > to Portuguese and you're seeing English -- then please comment further.) Let us now if this is not the case. This would be a more severe bug.
