If you go into a folder like [1] for a nightly build, there is a file like "firefox-52.0a1.en-US.linux-i686.txt" which contains the mercurial revision that the build was made from. However, for release builds such as [2] there doesn't appear to be anything in the folder that indicates the source revision. I'd like to see something added there that has that information. It's quite useful to know the source revision to build pushlog ranges and the like, without having to actually download and run the build and go to about:buildconfig. Bug 1282782 seems to have as a solution putting the file *inside* the source tarball, which is not that useful to me. I would still have to download the entire source tarball and unpack it to get the desired information. That's not much better than just running the binary and going to about:buildconfig.

Ah. We have something that you can use in the candidates directory, see http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/candidates/50.0b9-candidates/build1/linux-x86_64/en-US/firefox-50.0b9.json
