Details

(Keywords: steps-wanted, Whiteboard: [necko-backlog])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2899.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

OS: Windows 7 64-bit, full patched. Generated a doxygen documentation and open index.html using Firefox. There is only one tab opened in Firefox. Change from the doxygen documentation to another URL, e.g google to search for something. On the OS side try to delete the complete folder of the mentioned doxygen documentation.

Actual results:

Windows cannot delete folder/contents. The message is that the folder or a file is still opened in another program. Deletion is only possible when Firefox is closed.

Expected results:

Deletion of folder without locking messages of the OS.

I don't think we will attempt to fix this bug in the short term, and apparently it's specific to some situations, the locks aren't there in all circumstances.

The code to modify will likely fall under a component in the Core product rather than File Handling.
