RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1294027

People

(Reporter: mozilla.org, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/56.0.2907.0 Safari/537.36

Steps to reproduce:

When composing mail you can choose one of you multiple identities sender address from the dropdown menu next to the "From:" field. You could also specify a completely custom address.

I do this regularly because I own my TLD and have a catchall postbox.

Actual results:

When Thunderbird opens the connection to my SMTP service, it uses the Account's default address for the "MAIL FROM:" command which is part of the SMTP protocol.

Expected results:

Thunderbird should use the address from the "From:" field of the mail I just composed.
