We're deprecating support for XP/Vista in 53. Changes are being made to the installer to prevent fx from installing on these operating systems (bug 1305453). With these changes when the installer detect these operating systems it will cancel the install or upgrade and open the system requirements url: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/system-requirements/ This page currently redirects to a locale specific requirement page for Fx 50, which is our current release. I would like to add Fx 53 install requirements to this page for users on lower channels. Specifics we should note - Firefox 53 no longer support Windows XP/Vista/Server 2008. These users should migrate to ESR 52 once it's released.

System requirements are handled as part of our release notes process, afaik. Needs-info for Sylvestre who can likely help you here.

Jim, to clarify the situation: * you want me to start writing the 53 release notes and add this into this? (we don't have it, we only start release notes when the version is in aurora) * or you want me to add a sentence in all the system requirements after 50.0?

When the installer (53 or higher) tries to install on xp/vista, we open this page and fail the install - https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/system-requirements/ Regardless of what browser opens this page up (could be fx, could be ie or chrome), I'd like to add a blurb to it indicating 53 and up are no longer compatible with XP/Vista. Fx 53 specific requirements should mention this as well when we publish them.

Unfortunately, there are spelling errors. 2 times "planed" should be "planned".

Looks like ONE spelling error "planed" is fixed, but the SECOND same spelling error is still there.
Yeah, I was blocked by another bug Should be fixed now
