1318925 - History won't clear from Address bar or Go back/Next buttons

Steps to reproduce:

- Clear History
- Or set History options e.g. to 'Clear history when Firefox closes'


Actual results:

Launch browser back, random history in random order stuck in Address bar or on Back/Forward buttons on random tabs of opened pages (which by the way doesn't make sense why those tabs has history, those pages were never visited from those tabs and Back/next buttons are active for some reason)


Expected results:

Should clear all history.

What should I provide for investigation?

your db may be corrupt, please try with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/

also notice that back/forward history has nothing to do with global history, so it's possible your problem is more widespread... Maybe an add-on?

Problem still occurs in Sade-mode and cleaning with Places Maintenance didn't solve, it also said the database is 'sane'.

Also deleting history manually CTRL+Shift+Del and selecting e.g. Bookmarks and History it cleans history for the History tab inside Library, but not from address bar dropdown nor back/forward buttons.

Ok, those entries are all bookmarks (see the start on their side) or tagged. I don't know if you bookmarked those, or an add-on did for you.
Being bookmarks, they aren't cleared along with history.
You can try searching for them in Show All Bookmarks and removing them if you don't care about having them.

So, I think we can resolve this as invalid?

ok so what about if i want to keep bookmarks but dont want to see any bookmarks in history? why address bar showing 10 random bookmarks?

Or what about history on Back/forward buttons? E.g. YouTube tab has like 10 random videos on it that I watched like a week ago and none of them are bookmarked.

history on the back/forward button is session history, it goes away when you close Firefox.
