Our fundraising support team has received the following feedback regarding the fundraising snippet https://snippets.mozilla.com/show/5823/ (the translation was done last year).
Could you please review the message below and let us know if you need to update the current snippet? If there is nothing to update, please feel free to close the bug as RESOLVED INVALID.

“Lendo o texto do pedido de doações do Mozilla, em português, identifiquei um
problema de regência verbal que ocorreu na tradução do inglês.

Diz o texto:


“A Mozilla, desenvolvedora do Firefox, é uma organização sem fins
lucrativos, e nós contamos com as sua doações para continuar o trabalho.”


Até aqui está tudo certo, no entanto, o segundo período apresenta erros
verbais que ficariam melhor, se corrigidos, da seguinte forma:


“Se todos que estiverem lendo isso nos ajudarem com R$10, nós poderemos ser
mantidos por outro ano. Doe agora.”


Em Português, a palavra suporte não é usualmente utilizada para significar
manutenção. Assim, como coloquei, fica mais claro o texto.

Hi there, after a talk with Cynthia we decided that the following text should be used for the snippet:

"A Mozilla, a fabricante do Firefox, é uma entidade sem fins lucrativos que depende de suas doações para manter-se. Se todos que lerem esta mensagem doarem R$ 10 poderemos continuar trabalhando por mais um ano. Doe agora"

I believe this snipped should be imported to Pontoon for easier maintenance (I couldn't find it there).

Yeah, it is not on Pontoon anymore. Unfortunately, that wouldn’t make things easier as snippets have to be manually copy/pasted into the system, and we need to file a bug like this one to update a live snippet.


Jean — could you please update the pt-BR fundraising snippet with the copy in comment #2?
