1. Go to a news article, in this case http://arstechnica.com/staff/2016/11/from-sprinklers-to-battlestations-ars-staffers-crazy-home-lab-experiments/
2. Click "Enter Reader View"


Actual results:

Reader View appears with no Narrator option in the sidebar.


Expected results:

Reader View appears with Narrator option in the sidebar.

This is still occurring in later versions of the same software. Should I also open a ticket with Ubuntu?

I expect this is to do with the availability (or rather, lack thereof) of espeak on your machine. You might need to install extra packages, or use a more recent version of a particular package. The web speech folks and/or Eitan would know more.

Yeah, this is likely due to not having speech-dispatcher correctly configured in Linux.

All these distros are long out of support, so closing as wontfix.
