Steps to reproduce:
Starting Firefox with a blank start page.
Installed version: firefox-50.0.2-1.fc25.x86_64
provided from Fedora 25
Actual results:
Firefox opens a dialog for providing a client certificate independent of called URL and even if not client certificate is demanded.
Expected results:
Dialog for client certificate should only opened if web site requests a client certificate and if matching client certificate is available.

Could you perhaps see if you get the same behavior with an official mozilla.org build? It seems to me that this might be a distro related issue.
Running an official build would isolate this issue to that.

Same problem with official Mozilla (latest update) build on Mac-OS (Sierra).

At this point the only thing that would make sense is that you might have a certain type of network, but I'm not sure how to investigate further. Does this behavior happens with Firefox49 as well?

Problem is caused by AddOn "Noscript" (https://noscript.net/). Please close that bug, I will open bug at Noscript.
