"feature to auto delete mail from a given address older than x days" is already available, although two step setups are needed.
1. "per email address mail folder" for required email address, with intellectually utilizing already-available message filter.
2. Already-available Folder Properties, Retention Policy

The objective is to support a per-sender retention policy within a single folder. This would allow, for example, the automatic deletion of old promotions from deals.frys.com from the inbox without having to move them to a separate folder using a filter. The feature would meld functionality from the retention property and the filter function.

There are also some add-ons to add an expiry date to mail messages and/or to remove expired messages. Maybe you can accomplish what you want using these add-ons…
