Note, this would work and be useful for any branch, but my main use case is try. Here's my use case: It often happens that I want to check whether some weirdness I'm seeing on try is due to the base commit I pushed my queue on top of, or something else. In that case, what I do is open the oldest revision from my push on hg.mozilla.org, follow to the parent, take its sha1, and then open treeherder on the relevant branch, and add &revision=$sha1 to the url. It would be awesome if the treeherder link on that revision was pointing there in the first place. That however requires the mercurial server to have a global knowledge of what branch saw what commit first.
