User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:50.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/50.0
Build ID: 20161208153507
Steps to reproduce:
Hyperlinks in my e-mails in Thunderibrd have not been working with Firefox since several updates of Thunderbird, but perfectly worked before. I have tried all possibilities offered by Thunderbird (even adapting the network protocol handlers) but, the hyperlinks still won't work.
Actual results:
Hyperlinks still don't open Firefox
Expected results:
Hyperlinks should open Firefox

Trust me, clicking on a hyperlink *will* open the link in your chosen browser, in your (and my) case Firefox.
If it doesn't work, there's something wrong with your installation. So this is not a software bug but a support case which you filed in the wrong place. For support go to:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/thunderbird
You can see that I'm right be running Thunderbird on a new profile, start it with -p.
Perhaps you have incorrect file associations like the last complainer in bug 1323065.
