Steps to reproduce:

No one uses "Get add-ons" to get add-ons.
We go to "Extensions" to do so.
"Get add-ons" is obviously a page for beginners, why not give it a fitting name?
Also, why is "Get add-ons" selected by default and not "Extensions"? "Extensions" is used more often, and "Get add-ons" is used very infrequently, usually only by beginners.

To go further, there is already a help system in Firefox, accesible via the '?' button. There is no need to replicate help or tutorial functionality in the about:addons page.

The German translation of "Get add-ons" is "Add-ons suchen" which means "Search for add-ons", but you can't actually search for add-ons on this page.



Expected results:

The page titled Get add-ons" should be renamed to "Click here if you are a noob and confused and don't know what an add-on is", and placed as the last entry in about:addons.

"Extensions" should be the first item in about:addons and selected by default when opening about:addons.

I'm not sure why you think the discovery pane (the page corresponding to "Get Add-ons") duplicates the help system.  In any case, you are right that the discovery pane is designed to be accessible to Firefox users who aren't already experienced users of add-ons -- those are the vast majority of the population of Firefox users.  As for the initial selection, once you have navigated elsewhere, your last selection is remembered and is the initial selection on subsequent visits to about:addons.

Finally, as for the issue with the German translation of "Get Add-ons", please report it to the German localization team: https://wiki.mozilla.org/L10n:Teams:de
