Question about the AOM API in general. Has it been reviewed by other browsers vendors? Or what are our plans with it?

It is still under development, and at least 3 of the browser vendors take active participation in it. I'm not confident that the final version of API will be same as this prototype, but still it's quite good to check and demo the ideas. On the other hand, it is also a WebIDL replacement for our out-of-dated XPCOM accessibility API, and will be useful in dev tools development for example.
