I am using Firefox 50.1.0 on Manjaro Linux under Xfce and I can't drag files from the download menu anywhere, eg. to the desktop or the file manager.
Apparently I also can't drag file attachments from Thunderbird.
Component: Downloads Panel → General
Product: Firefox → Thunderbird
Version: unspecified → 45 Branch
Dragging files from the download menu now works with Firefox 52.0.1, but dragging attachments from Thunderbird still doesn't work.
Summary: Can't drag files from the download menu → Can't drag attachements from Thunderbird
Does it also happen with version 52?

This is still happening with TB 78.4.3 on Linux. Very frustrating - TB ditched again, back to evolution where it works!!!

Arnauld, is this something you can reproduce?

I also can't save attached files when dragging them to my Desktop. (TB 78.13.0 (64-bit) Manjaro Xfce 21.1.1 Pahvo Kernel: x86_64 Linux 4.19.204-1-MANJ )

In Thunderbird 153.0.2esr (64-bit), I can save attachments to the Desktop using the [Save All] button without any problem.

However, if I try to drag an attachment from the bottom of the email directly onto the Desktop, it fails.

The following dialog appears:

Title: "Error copying file or folder"
Message: "Unspecified error"

This appears to be an error message generated by the operating system rather than Thunderbird.

Thank you for providing additional information. Just to be sure, this is also with Xfce? Which version?
