Bug 1165263 switched the permissions api to origins. Our default permissions for new profiles still use host (only there for compatibility right now).

Is mozdev still valid as a source for xpis? Its there but seems to go on and off and the https support is spotty so only http in the patch.

I install some extensions from mozdev; YMMV. As for any source of add-ons, some are dutifully maintained (e.g. QuickFolders for Thunderbird and for SeaMonkey Mail), others aren't.

I added the https site to be sure. For mozilla only https is needed.
