Details
>>> My Info: Win7_64, Nightly 49, 32bit, ID 20160526082509 You shouldn't perform STR_1 and STR_2, just read it and understand why AR happens. Then read ER. >>> STR_1: 1. Create new profile using Nightly 2015-05-26, close other profiles, launch that profile 2. Open about:preferences#advanced -> Update, set "Nightly updates" to "Never check for updates" 3. Wait 5 minutes AR: Step 2 - there's no update badge in Australis menu button Step 3 - update badge appears in Australis menu button, even though I ALREADY DISABLED UPDATES, AND THERE WAS NO READY (DOWNLOADED) UPDATE, what means that browser decided to continue downloading update AFTER I disabled updates STR_2: 1. Create new profile using Nightly 2015-05-26, close other profiles, launch that profile 2. Wait 5 minutes 3. Open about:preferences#advanced -> Update, set "Nightly updates" to "Never check for updates" 4. Close the browser 5. Launch the same profile AR: Step 2 - update badge appears in Australis menu button Step 3 - Firefox updates (or Win7 shows UAC notification of FF asking for update), even though updates are disabled in browser ER: Either X or Y or X+Y or Z X) STR_1 - Browser should abort any downloading of updates after Step 2 Y) STR_2 - All downloaded updates should be deleted when browser shuts down with updates disabled Z) There should be an easy way to discard/get rid of/delete all update files/prompts at any time.

Bug 336267 will make it so updates already in progress when "Automatically install updates (recommended)" is changed to "Check for updates but let you choose to install them" will give the user the option to cancel the update.
