>>> My Info: Win7_64, Nightly 49, 32bit, ID 20160526082509
STR_1:
1. Type "asdf" in searchbar
2. Press Alt+Down several times to select Bing "oneoff" button
3. Hover mouse over "Change Search Settings"
AR: Searchbar shows the same UI as after Step 1 - it seems that if I press Enter,
searchbar will use Google, but in fact it'll use Bing.
ER: Searchbar should always indicate correctly which search engine will be used.
Note: This is regression of searchbar. In the past it always showed me correct search engine.

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:53.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/53.0
I was able to reproduce the mentioned issue on latest FF release and Nightly versions. Please see the attached picture of the it. I think the correct component is set.

I can reproduce on Mac too.
Something is clearly wrong here. I wonder if pressing enter in that case (when the 'Bing' engine is no longer visibly highlighted) should open the search settings instead of searching. But I remember we had issues in the past with the settings page opening too often an surprising users.
OS: Windows 7 → All

Florian, is this likely to get fixed anytime soon, or should we mark this as fix-optional for 54 and classify the bug as backlog?

The text here has now changed, and we don't display the engine that will be used, hence this is no longer valid.
