Trunk build 2002-03-22: WinMe, Mac 10.1.3 haven't tried linux yet. Overview: Adding a second account, unnecessarily adds a duplicate SMTP server to the list in the Advanced Outgoing Server dialog. Steps to reproduce: 1. New profile 2. Add an IMAP (or POP) account (i.e. nsmail-1) 3. Open Account Settings, and go to the Outgoing SMTP Server panel, select the Advanced button and notice it lists one smtp server "nsmail-1 (Default)" 4. Add another IMAP (or POP) account 5. Open Account Settings, and go to the Outgoing SMTP Server panel, select the Advanced button. Actual Results: Another smpt server entry appears: - nsmail-1 - nsmail-1 (Default) Each time another POP/IMAP server is added then another smtp server is added, unnecessarily. Expected Results: Adding another POP/IMAP server should not add a duplicate smtp server. It should appear once: - nsmail-1 (Default)

see http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=141314 and bugscape bug #14240 and http://bugscape.netscape.com/show_bug.cgi?id=14240#c17 I think this problem might be caused by the cloning we do of the smtp server in verifyAccounts() in AccountWizard.js

With luck, this won't conflict with bug 141314, but I can't be sure (bugscape).

re-opening, to see if this is really a dup or not. (And to evaluate neil's patch)

re-assign to neil. I've reviewed and tested his patch. r/sr=sspitzer note to QA, when testing, consider the scenario where the first (and second etc) accounts are news accounts.

Additional Information: In all cases in comment# 13, only one SMTP Server was present in the Outgoing SMTP Server dialog and after clicking on its Advanced button.
