Spun off bugscape 9521 & bug 132904. I noticed with Current commercial trunk builds (3/20,21,22) if I try to login to a Netscape mesg server through the browser, I can get in fine but the pages aren't displayed properly. Instead of seeing mail folders, mesgs, etc.. All I see is blank page with gray top and white bottom (colors Messenger uses. I have tried various test mail servers we have here in mail qa and after I login, the browser is blank. Test mail servers I've used are parp, tintin, and linzilla (i'm the server admin for this one). These servers are running Netscape Mesg server 4.15. The problem might be because these aren't secure (no httpS)? If I try judge/dredd I get the javascript error (bug 132904) so I can't confirm if I will get blank page or not. Anyways I've talked to Prashant about this offline already. We think it's regression as in his email to me, he says it works fine on NT in 2002-03-07-03 build. Tried Windows, Mac, and Linux builds and all have same results; Steps to reproduce: 1.Enter the Netscape Messenger mail server name in url. 2.enter in your userid and password 3.click login button result: after loggin in, page is blank. Only thing you can see is window with gray top and white bottom expected: to see your mail account, folders, etc.. Works fine in 4.x.
This is almost certainly due to the document.write regression in bug 132673
Depends on: 132673
The patch for bug 123899 was backed out. I'll leave this open until we're sure that this one is fixed too.

gchan, could you test this again with a fresh build?
using commercial trunk: 2002032803 on NT 4.0 2002032808 on Mac 9.2.2 and linux 2.2 This works now. I tried logging into 3 messaging servers and I got in and was able to 'view' everything. No blank pages. Able to read mail,compose,etc.. looks great!
Great, FIXED then.
