"Search" is the biggest source of distraction for me. Don't get me wrong. I like to search when I'm looking for a hotel or if I'm stuck on something in iOS development. But, the same "Search" can also be a source of distraction. I don't go to sleep on time when I'm busy searching random things and wasting my time without any real reason. In such situations, I'd like to block the search engine.
Regardless of the use case, I think the option to "disable" search is a simple and basic feature. It wouldn't make sense to install an add-on or a separate app just for that. Not that we have addons currently for Firefox iOS, but the point is that: creating an option for "disabling" is not so complex of a feature and would be useful if it existed.
The idea is not about blocking google.com or some other search website. But, the idea is to disable quick search from the URL bar. A simple "None" option for the "Default Search Engine" screen for instance?
