When I visit http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/ I see no way to access the Contributor forums, even when signed in as "mozilla" with admin privileges. I only see links to the product pages, Support Questions and the Moderator forum. The SUMO Community discussions forum is currently here: http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/bd-p/contributors The Knowledge Base and L10n forum is currently here: http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Knowledge-Base-L10n-Discussions/bd-p/kb-l10n-forums

Administrative setting that has the nodes set to 'hide from lists and menus'. Can keep it that way and hard code a link in a component or lock them down by roles instead. Both a community and UX decision.

Most of the contributor forums are now linked from http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors One link that's missing is for the "New Contributors" forum, currently at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/New-Contributor-Discussions/bd-p/new-contributor-discussions

To add to my last comment: The "Contributor Forums" list at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors does not include the Moderators forum, even when I'm signed in as "mozilla" (admin). The "Moderator" page at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator/ct-p/moderator (which I mentioned in comment 1) still has no forum threads listed.

They are located here: http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator-Discussions/bd-p/moderator_discussions See my comment here: Bug 1332476 comment 6 I've asked Scott how we can get that to become visible since toggling the 'Hide from lists and menus' option doesn't work.

Here's the current status. When I visit http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/ I now see two new tiles that I didn't see before: 1. A "Contributor forums" tile that links to this page: http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors ... which contains another set of five tiles that link to these forums: "SUMO community discussions" at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/bd-p/contributors "Knowledge Base & L10n Discussions" at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Knowledge-Base-L10n-Discussions/bd-p/kb-l10n-forums "Escalations and Troubleshooting" at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Escalations-and-Troubleshooting/bd-p/escalations "The Fun Corner" at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/The-Fun-Corner/bd-p/fun-corner "Plug-in check page discussions" at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Plug-in-check-page-discussions/bd-p/plugin-check-discussions Thanks to whoever added those "Contributor forums" links. That part of this bug is resolved. 2. A "New Contributors" tile that links to http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/New-Contributors/ct-p/welcome ... which goes to a page that has no forum threads listed. As I wrote in comment 4, the "New Contributors" forum is currently at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/New-Contributor-Discussions/bd-p/new-contributor-discussions I still see a "Moderator" tile that links to http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator/ct-p/moderator (which I mentioned in comment 1) that has no forum threads listed. As Noah mentioned in comment 6, the "Moderator" forum is currently at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator-Discussions/bd-p/moderator_discussions

Tried to make these forums visible on their individual pages but failed: http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator-Discussions/bd-p/moderator_discussions http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/New-Contributor-Discussions/bd-p/new-contributor-discussions Path of discovery: • Avatar menu button > Community Admin > Community Structure Then expand Mozilla Support Community (14) > Moderator > Moderator Discussions > View (must hover mouse on MD item then slide over to View) • Avatar menu button > Community Admin > Community Structure Then expand Mozilla Support Community (14) > New Contributors > New Contributor Discussions > View (must hover mouse on NCD item then slide over to View) I checked "Edit Properties" for each of those forums and "Hide from lists and menus" is unchecked. Very weird. Probably moving each forum to the "Contributor Forums" category folder would make them visible but I didn't try that b/c I don't want to mess anything up. :) Maybe Scott can investigate? To recap: I can't get either forum mentioned above to surface after making sure the "Hide from lists and menus" options were unchecked and saved. They should appear at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Moderator/ct-p/moderator & http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/New-Contributors/ct-p/welcome respectively.

Why should the "Moderator" and "New Contributor" forums be linked from their own individual tiles on the the support home page? I would place them with the other contributor forums linked from the "Contributor forums" page at http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors the same way the contributor forums are all listed together at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums Any thoughts, Noah? Madalina?

They are separated now in the structure because it makes it easier to add permissions (so only moderators see Moderator forums etc). But we can work on the UX to make it look better. I'll assign this to me and work with Michal and Rachel on the community admin side and Joni on the UX side to fix.

Two more contributor forums to add, assuming they're still needed going forward: • http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Social-Media-AoA-and-Facebook/bd-p/social-support-discussion • http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Webmaker-Community-Discussions/bd-p/webmaker-community-discussions

Alice, these two forums will be closed as we won't need them anymore. But I think we're still migrating the content and then archiving them afterwards.

(In reply to madalina from comment #12) > Alice, these two forums will be closed as we won't need them anymore. But I > think we're still migrating the content and then archiving them afterwards. There are a few other forums at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums that aren't currently accessible to contributors. Can you confirm whether these other forums are also no longer needed? Firefox OS English discussions http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Firefox-OS-Discussions-English/bd-p/firefox-os-discussions-english Firefox OS Portuguese discussions http://migration26.stage.lithium.com/t5/Firefox-OS-Discussions/bd-p/firefox-os-discussions-portuguese Firefox for iOS discussions (?) Lost Threads (?) test group (?)

The first two will be moved, archived. *Firefox OS English discussions *Firefox OS Portuguese discussions I can see a need for Firefox for iOS forum. Lost threads may not be needed anymore now that you can move a thread. A spam thread or a thread that needs to be hidden, can not be moved into the moderator forum called 'Archived Content'

(In reply to rmcguigan from comment #14) > I can see a need for Firefox for iOS forum. I'll leave that decision up to admin but I don't see a need for a separate Firefox for iOS discussion forum. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/firefox-ios-discussions has only two threads: "Firefox for iOS 4.0" posted May 11, 2016, no replies and "When Firefox for iOS will be available around the world?" posted September 4, 2015, 4 replies. Other discussion about Firefox for iOS is apparently happening in different contributor forums: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/search/advanced?a=1&updated=0&created=0&q=iOS&sortby=0&w=4&page=2

I was finally able to sign in to the new site with my AliceWyman profile after resetting my password but there are no links to the contributor forums on the new https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Mozilla-Support-English/ct-p/Mozilla-EN home page. I did find this forum thread, https://support.mozilla.org/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/request-Add-quot-Moderator-queue-quot-to-Front-Page-Mod-forum/m-p/1359807#U1359807 ... where James wrote the following: "The Moderator section tile is hidden to non mods/admins on https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors however it cached. You did find it as this does work https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Moderator/ct-p/moderator " The https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors link gives me a list of contributor forums but the Moderator forum link that James gave is missing any content. I also tried https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Moderator-Discussions/bd-p/moderator_discussions (based Noah's link in comment 6 above) but I get an "Access Denied" error, "You do not have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action." Anyway, here are direct links for the available contributor forums, for those who need them: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/SUMO-community-discussions/bd-p/contributors https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Knowledge-Base-L10n-Discussions/bd-p/kb-l10n-forums https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Escalations-and-Troubleshooting/bd-p/escalations https://support.mozilla.org/t5/The-Fun-Corner/bd-p/fun-corner https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Plug-in-check-page-discussions/bd-p/plugin-check-discussions Note: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/Contributor-Forums/ct-p/contributors does not list the New Contributors forum but it can be accessed using this link: https://support.mozilla.org/t5/New-Contributor-Discussions/bd-p/new-contributor-discussions

I just noticed that James is listed as a "Site Moderator" while I'm a "Support Forum Moderator", which has fewer permissions.
