Steps to reproduce:

"Help > About Thunderbird", click on "Release Notes".



When the window pops up to indicate an update to TB, I clicked on the "more information about this release" link.

(win10_64, currently 50.0b3)


Actual results:

A tab opens for Firefox 50.0beta. If I right-click and "Copy link location" and open it in a browser, it correctly brings up Thunder Beta notes (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/51.0beta/releasenotes/).

(Probably related: when I get a popup indicating an update to TB and click on the "more info about this release" link, I'm sent to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/51.0beta/releasenotes/ instead of https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/51.0beta/releasenotes/.)


Expected results:

Should have been sent to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/50.0beta/releasenotes/

(Sorry, discard the second sentence in "steps to reproduce". Though still true and possibly relevant, I changed the primary intent of the bug to be regarding "help > about tb".)

bugzilla will give you better results about possible already open bugs, if you use a summary that doesn't abreviate terms, and if you include a bit more detail of the "steps". For example

My apologies for being part of the bug-reporting-DDOS: I started the bug report after searching for "update firefox", since it was the update window link that triggered me reporting the bug. It does not bring up any relevant bugs.

While writing the steps to reproduce, I found the "help > release notes" bug and thought that it would be more general and appropriate. Unfortunately, I did not re-search for "release notes firefox", which would have better informed me.

Might I suggest somebody add an "update" tag to that bug? With 51.0b1 being release very recently, it's possible that this will trigger some people who look for that versus the "release notes" issue.

I'll tell my brother so that he doesn't report this, too :-P
