Build ID: 1999090808 Platform: RH Linux 6 (problem not exhibited in Win32 on yesterday's build due to other issues; the 08-Sep build is not yet available on Win32) To reproduce: - Launch apprunner - Select File | New | Blank Window - Click in the body of the document - Type Alt-F-C Result: The window is not closed - Press and hold down the C key Result: A line of 'c' is typed in the Ender window Expected result: Typing Alt-F-C should close the window and not type a C into the Ender window.
Summary: [PP] Linux - Keyboard accel not working, typing in Ender → Keyboard accel not working, typing in Ender
Also not working in Windows Same bug happens where the window does not close and the "f" and "c" are typed onto the editor window, but in Windows the app window is brought in front of the editor window. The editor drop down menu then appears on top of the app window. Tested on Win98 & WinNT removing [PP Linux] from summary line

Hey, I just deliver the events. :) Anyway, this is either an editor use of keybindings bug or a bug with keybindings itself. I'm going to send this to brade so she can have a look. cc'ing saari as well.
This sounds like xpmenu problems. Reassign to saari. This may already be fixed since it's over a week old now. CPratt, JanC--can you retest and confirm it is still a bug? what about on Macintosh? Also, do the shortcuts work in the browser (but not the editor)? This also sounds like a duplicate bug to me.

This bug may or may not exist; I can't tell right now as pressing Alt does NOT drop down any menus in Editor at the moment! 1999092208 build, NT.
cpratt--does it work in the browser? (can you drop down any menus there?)
nope, this is busted in the browser too (alt key does not activate menus).
alt key should work again. However, since when should alt-f-c close the window? Is that a Windows thing? Keybinding cannot even support alt-F-C given its current spec! Anyway, I don't see the behavior described on MacOS. The window doesn't close, but characters don't get inserted either.
My bad. Alt+F should drop down the File menu; pressing C should then Close the window (keyboard accelerator). This is a Windows thing; it's also there on Linux, and I don't expect it to be in the Mac OS menus. There is no "Alt+F+C" per se, although other three-key combinations do exist in Windows that are used to enter certain characters when using the standard US keyboard.

cpratt--is this still broken?

resolving this as fixed to get on QA radar for verification.

Not fixed. In the 19991025086 build under NT, do this: - Launch apprunner - Click into the Location: control - Type Alt+F+C (this *should* close the window but doesn't) - Keep typing C's Result: A string of 'cccccccccc' etc. appears in the Location control.
