Logs would seem to indicate that it is failing to allocate buffers deep in layers for reasons that the logs don't elucidate much more than that we've failed to do so.

As you said nothing stands out other than an allocation failed. It would be super useful if we could dump about:memory to stdout when we fail to do an allocation (at least for nightlies). Is there an easy way to do that?
