Comments:
This request is part of a new project set up by the Developer Marketing team.

We intent to create a community of developers who want to advocate the Open Web as Mozilla is doing in order to provide support to them. To that end we need a public discussion place. For that purpose the Mozilla Community Discourse instance looks like the best place for that.

Hi Jeremie,

Category has been setup here: https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/developer-community

You can give us the correct description when ready.
Hey Jeremie,

Does this project have a more specific name? "Developer Community" is pretty broad, is its intent to include *all* developers, or just a specific subset, like Web Developers? If it is, the name as it stands could be quite confusing.

At the time we don't have a more specific name as this project intent to reach out all developers (specific targets to be define in the next days but it will be broad). This project focus on how Mozilla can help any developer (Web Developers, System developers, Add-on developers, etc.) to spread out knowledge of the open web and open source best practices Mozilla cares for.

If you are curious of the details, feel free to have a look at this WikiMo page:
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Marketing/Developer/Community

As you can see we are really at an early stage and, if during the course of that project we feel necessary to narrow it down, I'll make sure we rename that Discourse category accordingly.

Any feedback or suggestion is welcome, feel free to reach out to me or Lucy Harris (or to post on that new Discourse category ;)

Okay, that's what I took from the name, so it works well! :)

Yes please, and if you could format it with a 'tweetable' length description on the first line (to be displayed in tooltips and other space limited places in the UI), which you can then clarify or expand upon in the following lines (only if you want or need to) that would be excellent.

Hi!

Here is the description for the Category:
---

The Developer Community project by Mozilla is aim to support developers and groups of developers around the world.

We intent to federate and support every developers sharing the same values of openness and inclusion as Mozilla. How and when it will be done still remain to be defined and it means you can already get involved with us at that key moment of defining our framework for the future of that community.

If you want to know more about the project, have a look at those resources:

- [The WikiMo project page](https://wiki.mozilla.org/Marketing/Developer/Community)
This is the canonical place to know everything about the project, status, document, everything.
- [The Discourse Forum](https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/developer-community)
This is where we discuss everything, and communicate information and status about the project.
- Our bi-weekly face to face meeting
This is where we acknowledge our plans and next steps. (See our WikiMo page for details)

Everybody is welcome to join and participate :)

**Note:** _We haven't a formal code of conduct yet. However, no form of harassment, discrimination or dismissal will be tolerate will discussing with others. People behaving badly will be politely but firmly asked to leave._

And of course this is when I submit that I found a giant grammar error :-/

Please, change: "will be tolerate will discussing"
By: "will be tolerate while discussing"

One last question:

Is there an e-mail address that can be used to create a new topic on the forum (rather than using the web interface)?
