Details

Trink added some monitoring of validation failures and saw that in the new pipeline about 6% of crash pings were failing as errors. I relaxed two problematic restrictions in the crash schema: - allow any string value for 'channel' rather than a short enumerated list[1] - allow null for clientId[2] Please deploy the updated crash schema to prod. This has been deployed alongside the other DWL changes. I've confirmed on the crash ping error monitoring dashboard that we've dropped to a more reasonable discard rate (< 0.1%). I'll backfill crash pings from errors or the heka store, depending on which is easier, before performing the prefix migration to the new infra.
