WFM with FF52 on Win7 Did you test with Nightly too?
Component: Untriaged → Audio/Video: Playback
Product: Firefox → Core
Nightly is ok.
The problem occurs only if flash is ask to activate.
Old versions have the same behaviour too when "Ask to activate" is enabled for the Flash plugin.
Component: Audio/Video: Playback → Plug-ins
Summary: Firefox 52 doesn't play ausopen.com videos → "Ask to activate" for Flash plugin blocks video but not audio (ausopen.com videos)
On Nightly, where navigator.plugins is neutered in click-to-play mode, I can play both the video and audio (win64). On beta, I can reproduce this. It appears that it's using the following DOM structure: <div id="player"> <video id="player_html5_api" ...> <div class="vjs-ima3-ad-container"> <object id="player-ima3-flash" ...> </div> </div> And although it's playing with the HTML5 player, it's still layering the Flash element on top of it so it's hidden. It appears that the same behavior happens in Chrome if you set "Block sites from running Flash". We probably won't fix this on our side: the only fix we could do is add ausopen.com to our blocklist of sites where Flash is never available, and that's not implemented yet.
