Steps to reproduce:

upgraded to version 51.0.1


Actual results:

disconnect me stopped working 
numbers on the dashboard all show 0's
also when I click the icon the dashboard shakes up and down
also most pages are full of ads and load much slower


Expected results:

disconnect me should work
this has never happened with previous upgrades

I guess you report the issue about the add-on Disconnect:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/disconnect/

If that's the case, this add-on has not been updated since Jan. 2015. Maybe it's not compatible with multiprocess (e10s) largely enabled in FF51.

Could you type about:support in the URL bar and check the value for the line "Multiprocess Windows".

With WebExtensions being the only supported add-on type in Firefox 57, I don't think this is relevant any more.
