There are several services hosted under telemetry.mozilla.org. TMO acts currently both as a portal to those services while at the same time hosting the measurement & evolution dashboards. It would nice to move the those two dashboards to their own subdomains to make the distinction clearer and evolve TMO into a full-fledged portal.
Summary: Create a new domain for the aggregates dashboard → Create a new home for the measurement & evolution dashboards.
Do we have the control and the expertise to rewrite old links to tmo/new-pipeline/* as 301 Moved to this new domain? If so, I have no objection (except that it would involve having to come up with a name, and names are hard).
(In reply to Chris H-C :chutten from comment #1) > Do we have the control and the expertise to rewrite old links to > tmo/new-pipeline/* as 301 Moved to this new domain? This is of course technically feasible. As I understand it https://start.telemetry.mozilla.org/ is meant to serve the purpose you are describing, so if we want to proceed it likely involves moving start.tmo to tmo and performing some redirection for existing dashboards to wherever we move them to.
Rob, do you if this is still relevant now? Do we have any plans for this?
If we don't have any specific plans to change how things work now, we might just close this bug.
start.telemetry.mozilla.org has been decommissioned, it now redirects to docs.telemetry.mozilla.org. I still like the idea of repurposing the top level telemetry.mozilla.org host to a portal and moving the dashboards to a subdomain, but this isn't urgent, and the original proposal in this bug is no longer appropriate. It's fine w me to close this one.
