User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0 Build ID: 20170206101855 Steps to reproduce: I went to https://hangouts.google.com/ and tried to start a video call Actual results: I was redirected to a page saying "Install the Hangouts Plugin to get started" https://www.google.com/tools/dlpage/hangout Expected results: Google Hangouts video call should have worked. Google Hangouts is used by a lot of people including Firefox developers. Please don't remove support in the next version. A lot of people will give up Firefox if Google Hangouts Video calls don't work. Google Hangouts is the most actively used NAPI plugin, not Flash Player. Please whitelist it and postpone it's removal.

I think Hangouts is going to migrate full WebRTC this year, so no more plugin.
Is there any upstream bug tracking the Google Hangouts migration to WebRTC? I would like to know when it will work in Firefox without the plugin.

The only details I have are from this comment: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1187005#c188 cpeterson, do you have fresh news about the migration of GG Hangouts to use WebRTC?

Google will need to provide public information about their transition plans. We have made a product decision to continue NPAPI deprecation regardless of the outcome here, so I'm going to resolve this bug.
