Summary: Firefox runs so slow. Worked fine before upgrade to 51. If nobody fixes this I'll go back to Chrome → Firefox runs so slow. Worked fine before upgrade to 51
So sad, I liked firefox. Upgrade to 51 is trash on my computer. Tried safe mode no change. Can't figure out how to disable multiprocess window. If this can't be fixed by mozilla, I'll switch to Chrome. Chrome sucks but it isn't soooo slow
I gave a link to disable e10s. Open about:config and switch to false all strings called browser.tabs.remote.autostart. After that, restart Firefox.
Hi, There could be a lot of reasons to why your Firefox is running slow as of the newest update, and it may or may not even be e10s related. The best way we can work with this is if you provide us with a Cleopatra profile. Can't find about:config. Found about:buildconfig in troubleshooting info. I am not a super high tech guy and a lot of this is greek to me. I would just like firefox to work
You can access about:config by navigating to the URL and typing "about:config" minus quotes. Hit the button that says "I accept the risk" Type in "browser.tabs.remote.autostart" minus quotes Set it to False. Restart Firefox and that will force e10s to be disabled.

I have the same problem. Just going into facebook and scrolling down several times I get Firefox to stop charging the page. I use Firefox 51.0.1 on Windows 10, 32 bits. CPU usage grows up to 50%, even 90%. Two Firefox tasks appear on the task manager. Memory usage achieves 500 MB. This other bug seems to be related to this one: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1334367. I don't know when did it exactly started to happen. Maybe two weeks ago.
