Description

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:51.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/51.0
Build ID: 20170125094131

Steps to reproduce:

In order to receive this bug, all we had to do was open a PDF attachment or an excel spreadsheet as an attachment - on a website, or via an email. Once this is opened, you have the option to Save File or Open With. This issue happened when we selected Save File.

Actual results:

The actual result of doing this was that a new 'blank' tab would appear. This tab would remain open and not close itself after opening the attachment.

Expected results:

What used to happen before a recent update was the blank tab would open and then close right away. Meaning we would never really have seen the New tab. The blank tab never used to remain open whether we selected 'Save File' or 'Open With'

I think it's due to e10s enabled in FF51.

Type about:support and copy the line "multiprocess windows".

Do you have a link to reproduce the issue?

Oops, I forgot to ask you to test with e10s disabled if the line is 1/1 (enabled).

It's probably a dupe of bug 1303727.
