Details

[Affected versions]:
- Latest Nightly 54.0a1 in call with Chrome Release
- we were unable to try other versions due to lack of time (will do this ASAP)

[Affected platforms]:
- call between Mac OS X 10.11.6 and Windows 10 64bit

[Unaffected platforms]:
- call between Mac OS X 10.11.6 and macOS 10.12.3
- call between Mac OS X 10.11.6 and Ubuntu 16.04 64bit

[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Visit https://appear.in and create a random room
2. Send the link of the room to the other OS
3. Visit the room from the other OS

[Expected result]:
- Video and audio is in sync.

[Actual result]:
- Video and audio is not in sync after a few seconds.

[Regression range]:
- Not able to determine at this moment since it requires a lot of time. We did check using Nightly from 2016-10-25 and we were unable to reproduce the issue in question. Will try and come up with a regression ASAP.

[Additional notes]:
- This call was made between a MacBook pro that was connected to local WiFi connection and a Windows 10 PC that was connected to the same local WIRED connection. We also tried the same setup using different connections (external WiFi and Wired) but the issue was not reproducible.

Alex will know.

I try to repro but it was not possible. Tried with latest Nightly and with a Nihtly one day before land the drift bug. Both works perfect.

Can you please provide more details about the problem. In which peer you see the lack of A/V sync? After how many second? My understanding is that Nightly is installed in MacOS and Chrome is installed in Windows 10, am I correct? Finally, can you please re-test using latest Nightly since we landed an important fix that might affect the case.

Sorry for the late reply, I was caught in other higher priority tasks.

To answer your questions:

(In reply to Alex Chronopoulos [:achronop] from comment #3)
> Can you please provide more details about the problem. In which peer you see
> the lack of A/V sync?

The lack of A/V sync was seen only by the user from Windows 10.

> After how many second?

The problem could be seen in about 1 minute.

> My understanding is that Nightly is installed in MacOS and Release Chrome is installed in Windows 10, am I correct?

You are correct, Nightly is installed in MacOS and Chrome in Windows 10.

> Finally, can you please re-test using latest Nightly since we landed an important fix that might affect the case.

I retested again today using latest Nightly 55.0a1 and I could not see this issue anymore, I retested a couple of times just to be sure with the exact same HW configuration.

So, can I close this now?
I think we can close this for now as worksforme, anyways we are actively testing WebRTC and if we ran into this again we will reopen it or log a new issue.
