Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
BuildID: Mozilla 0.9.9

dragging a URL onto the personal toolbar simply does nothing.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Launch Mozilla.
2.Attempt to add bookmark to personal toolbar.
3.Be sad.
Works For Me on 0.9.9 - dragging the favicon of this bug from the URL bar onto
my perosnal toolbar added the bookmark to the personal toolbar. So did dragging
a bookmark from the manage bookmarks dialog.

Exactly what build ID are you using, is it a Mach-O or CFM build?

2002031005, CFM. I can also reproduce it with 2002032808, which I
happen to have lying around.

I'm running a stock Mac OS X 10.1.3, in case that matters. I've
seen this bug for some time, at least since 0.9.7.

I just tried moving my .mozilla directory out of the way, and it
didn't affect this bug. I've also found it to be independent of
what theme I use.
I have seen this for a while on my Mac (OS 9.2) on which I have been running 6.1
then 6.2 of Netscape. It doesn't have the same problem on my Win2k machine.

Now installed Mozilla 2002031106 on the Mac and it still does it. Reproduceable
every time.
Reporter,
In the bookmarks manager, if you select the Personal Toolbar folder, then go
to View->Set as Personal Toolbar Folder, does this solve the problem?
I don't seem to have a personal toolbar folder, at least none is listed in the
bookmarks manager.

I created a folder and named it "Personal Toolbar", but View->Set as Personal
Toolbar Folder is grayed out.

Wait ... I just looked again and it's not grayed out any more. How very weird.
I dragged a URL onto the Personal Toolbar and it stayed! Wow! Thanks!
No problem, glad it works now. You were probably encountering bug 88711.
