User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_12_3) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/55.0.2883.95 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: I type an email, click "Attach" in the toolbar, the OS's file dialog opens, but the file I was just working on is not there to be chosen from. It seems that sometimes the file dialog is showing a cached state from several minutes ago or something like that. I can open the finder (macOS) and drag the file into the mail, and that works. So the file is not generally missing to the OS. It's really weird and confusing, because it does not always happen, but one out of five times or something. I send a lot of patches, so it's a lot of git format-patch, compose email, attach, send. Every so often, the patch file I just produced is not there. But it doesn't have anything to do with the file type or extension being hidden, because it does work more often than not.

Are the files you're trying to attach on a network drive?
Everything is local.
Anyone else seen this on Mac? I've never seen bug reports of this. And doesn't seem like it would be caused by Thunderbird

I'd like to know whether this can be reproduced with Firefox. Visit a site that requires some sort of upload, then select a local file.
