Details

When setting up a new computer, I encountered "ERROR: Rust compiler not found" (not surprising, as I hadn't installed rust). configure (./mach build, really) claimed that I can "install rust by running './mach bootstrap'", but doing so does not install rust. This is on Fedora, if it matters.
Ah, perhaps it did install it but didn't set up the PATH correctly - it seems it modifies PATH in .profile, which doesn't appear to be used by default in Fedora?
Summary: configure claims mach bootstrap will install rust, but it does not → mach bootstrap doesn't effectively set PATH to include installed rust binaries on Fedora
Or I guess it requires logging in and out. Thanks, linux.
