opened in mozilla and in Netscape 4.78.
In mozilla the page info does not include the frame containing the real page,
whereas Netscape does contain this useful information.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open munged url
2. select page info
3. usefull information is not included for analysis, as in Netscape 4.78
4. media tab does include linked graphics, which is helpful

Actual Results: helpful information as to page structure is not included in
page info display

Expected Results: Behavior more like Netscape 4.78 is desired, so all elements
on the page are all out in the open.

Netscape returns:

well, just going by the title, then yes, this is a bug. however, I'm not sure
exactly what information on this particular page ns4.x's page info shows that
mozilla's page info does not. The general tab shows the url, the forms tab shows
the form, the media tab shows the images, all including the same information
that ns4.x shows. There are no frames on this particular page. (I also don't see
how the url you gave is different from http://209.126.172.50/~catman143/debt/)

At any rate, I have been slowly working on a few modifications to the page info
window that would add a tab for the structure of the page (showing the frames
and images in the order they are shown on the page). I'm also going to remove
duplicates from the media tab and so on.

I should be able to get to all of these by the time 1.1 is released.

I still say Mozilla's page info should give at least as much detail as netscape 4.7

http://www.myautoquote.com/

With Netscape 4.7:
MyAutoQuote.com - Get YOUR Price! has the following structure:

     http://www.myautoquote.com/
          Frame: http://www.myautoquote.com/pricequotes.htm
               Image: http://www.myautoquote.com/header.gif
               Image: http://www.myautoquote.com/bottom.jpg
          Frame:

So it lists all the frames, and the images.

Whereas with Mozilla, none of that is revealed on the page info.
Mozilla is blank. No info at all. Take a look at it.

I am presently using 2002031104. For some reason I didn't find a newer windows
build on the ftp. I downloaded the stub installer and got the same version.

get the latest from http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla/nightly/latest/

Mozilla does list the images, check the media tab. As I said before, I'm working
on displaying the frames as well.
Media tab is blank for me, at least on that page.
It does display the two images on this bug report form.
steve: are you using a nightly?
I just downloaded a refresh, 2002040803
Now:
Netscape 4.7 page info shows:

http://www.myautoquote.com/
          Frame: http://www.myautoquote.com/pricequotes.htm
               Image: http://www.myautoquote.com/header.gif
               Image: http://www.myautoquote.com/bottom.jpg
          Frame:

Mozilla shows only two items on media tab.

http://www.myautoquote.com/header.gif
http://www.myautoquote.com/bottom.jpg

as far as I know, this is all not precisely correct!
Something still needs to be done about the inability to select/copy-paste the
items in the page info. It is of limited value without that.
If double clicked, it should be selectable as text.
re copy from page info, if you have a nightly (not 0.9.9), you can hit ctl-C to
copy the url of the currently selected image to the clipboard. you can also
select most other things in the dialog and copy them as well.
Priority: -- → P2
Not as far as I can tell. ctrl-c doesn't seem to do any copy function.
Steve, what build are you using? What OS? What are you highlighting?
I have 2002041103 now (W98), which has problems that were fixed in previous
release. Not in this area, in another area. Oh well.

I tried control-c on a highlighted item in the links list, and
true, it does copy the address column to clipboard. It is not possible to
select either of the other columns in that table. It's an improvement.

The list of links is still not correct, nor does it contain all items on the page.

The media contains all the items it's supposed to contain. It was not meant to
list the frames.
Perhaps, but I would hope that Mozilla would turn out to be at least as useful
and capable as Netscape 4.7's page info display. With nothing left out.

Perhaps the design goals should be revisited with the ideal of allowing complete
analysis of displayed pages? I hope so.
As I've said several times in this bug, I'm working on it.
*** Bug 172708 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Interestingly enough, WeirdAl has gone and implemented something very like what
is needed to fix this bug. Perhaps he'll package it up as a tab and we'll get it
into page info.

http://weblogs.mozillazine.org/weirdal/archives/subDocs.zip
Has there been any movement with this?

I am normally only using page info to examine and cut and paste frame URLs
within a frameset.

When will it be possible to get at this info without using Netscape 4.7?

Some new sites don't support Netscape 4.7 any more.
