Do this:
(1) Select a message and open it to stand-alone screen
(2) Create a filter (&Edit->F&ilters, etc.)
(3) Give <OK> to both filter-definition dialogs.

The apparent top-window is now the stand-alone screen
However all of the following fail:

Alt+F, Alt+E, etc.: All Menubar shortcuts get a *ding* for invalid keystroke
Ctl+Sft+F (SearchMessages): Nothing happens

To get normal functioning back, shift away to another window (Alt-Tab) then back
to the stand-alone. Things are OK until the next time.
