Description

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; WOW64; rv:52.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/52.0
Build ID: 20170302120751

Steps to reproduce:

Use the web development tools : scripts : find text

Actual results:

Just a field to get an exact content to find.
Answer : found n instances shown (highlighted) into file (scroll as you can).

Expected results:

This is not into specifications nor documentation but it is such a wide lack of function regardless to common functions that I set it into bugs. This because with this lack, the product is not usable for normal development conditions.
The common functions waited are :
- set position of current window so that next versus previous instance (or nth instance) could be visible (to set a breakpoint for example or simply look at code).
- use of regular expressions for searching

I have several very long scripts (current is 8000 lines long, 3500 lines of code and others doc and notes and messages display for a development version). For such sources Firefox development tools is completely unusable.
My current workaround solution is to keep editing into project manager (phpstorm) find content and use line number to move to good position by vertical scroll cursor. This means a lot of time lost which cannot go on a long time.
The search function as in chrome or opera is, in my opinion, needed by any developer.
