User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0
Build ID: 20170313030209

Steps to reproduce:

In Windows 10 x64, go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Associations > Protocols and click MAILTO or go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Default Programs\Set Default Programs\Set Program Associations and click Firefox > "Choose defaults for this program".

Actual results:

In the first method, a dialog box pops up offering Chrome, the Mail app and "Look for an app in the store". In the second method, a list of extensions and protocols is presented, with check boxes next to them, including FTP HTTP and HTTPS, but not MAILTO. The same behavior is observed for Nightly 55.0a1 (2017-03-13) (64-bit)

Expected results:

A larger list of protocols should be there, including MAILTO. With this parameter set, clicking on a MAILTO URL in other applications would open the link in Firefox, which would then reference Firefox's MAILTO setting (taking one to gmail, for instance). Chrome, for example, has 13 protocols listed in the program associations dialog, including MAILTO, compared with 3 for Firerfox.
