Steps how to reproduce with unzipped installer of official en-US SeaMonkey 2.52a1 (NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:55.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/55.0 Build 20170311002651 (Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit 1. From Browser (if you want: newly created user profile) visit <https://hit.sbt.siemens.com/RWD/app.aspx?RC=DE&lang=de> 2. At “Produksuche” input line type “xyz” <enter> » “No results” message 3. Click somewhere into empty white page contents area 4. Click into input line (where still “xyz” contents does exist) expected: flashing caret, ability to mark “xyz” contents with mouse pointer, double click or <ctrl+a> Bug: nothing is as expected a) works fine in Chrome portable Version 55.0.2883.87
b1) Already REPRODUCIBLE with en-US SeaMonkey 2.40 final Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:43.0) from official download page, Gecko/20100101 Firefox/ 43.0 Build 20160120202951, (Default Classic Theme) on German WIN7 64bit b2) Already REPRODUCIBLE with SeaMonkey 2.8 Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20120604 Firefox/11.0 SeaMonkey/2.8 c) no obvious DUP found with <https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/buglist.cgi?cmdtype=dorem&remaction=run&namedcmd=DUPs1347434&sharer_id=41036>
Version: SeaMonkey 2.52 Branch → SeaMonkey 2.8 Branch
d) Works fine with FF Nightly 54.0a1 (2017-02-26) (32-bit)
OS: Unspecified → Windows 7
I think its just a bug with the website. (Or a bug in Mozilla in general.) 1. load https://hit.sbt.siemens.com/RWD/app.aspx?RC=DE&lang=de&MODULE=Product&ACTION=ShowGroup > note that focus is in the search box, blinking line (carat) is present 2. jump to a different window, tab, application, alternatively click outside the search box 3. jump back > note that carat is gone, no indication that you are in the Producktsuche search box I see the same in FF 52. An ancient version of Chrome (38) looks to behave as expected. It does not appear to be a useragent issue.
e) Pale Moon Version: 27.2.1 (32-bit) is also affected.
