I've seen that error code before but typically it happens when the peer process shuts down. (i.e. the AT holds a reference to a remote, defunct COM object that belonged to another process that has since terminated. Do you know if a content process terminated some time before this error showed up?

If so, this code would be expected.

Just caught it again right after the exception from bug 1348043. I have only 1 tab open and it doesn't seem to be going away. (I haven't closed any and none crashed).
